Brand Strategy Director

LERMA/ channels creativity for good through unmatched cultural intelligence, and our brand strategists play a pivotal role in that. LERMA/ is seeking a Director of Brand Strategy to lead strategy development and growth on key client accounts. The right candidate will have 7+ years of agency experience in brand strategy/account planning/brand planning. This role will report to the Brand Strategy Principal. 


  • Direct brand strategy and foster growth on client accounts (i.e., on brand and business KPIs and scope) 
  • Oversee and facilitate brand development process  
  • Lead a team of strategists in consumer research, POVs, insightful creative strategy development, creative improvement and brand building 
  • Collaborate with strategists, brand leadership, creative, media, analytics, and subject matter experts in the development and implementation of strategies 
  • Participate in efforts to win new business  
  • Contribute to brand strategy department thought leadership and insight development 
  • Nurture brand strategy team growth through mentorship and training 


  • 7+ years of agency experience in brand strategy/brand planning/account planning  
  • Kindness, no fear of having a divergent point of view (on the work or the world) 
  • A hunger to learn about and experience life from someone else’s perspective (i.e., culture, heritage, geography, etc.)  
  • Able to display a history of winning, insightful strategy development 
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to tell a great story 
  • Mastery of primary research methodologies (including focus group moderation) 
  • Command of the analytical skills needed to tell a story with data 
  • Able to work efficiently and prioritize across multiple projects  
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail  
  • Able to represent oneself and the agency professionally in all internal and external communications 
  • Self-motivated, but works well with and contributes to an integrated team 
  • Resourceful in problem-solving and troubleshooting
